I am interested in planting some Miss Kim lilac bushes. They would be planted on the west side of my house and get sun only part of the day. How will they fair, and will they bloom with only partial sun?

As with other lilacs, Miss Kim does best in full sun all day long. However, a full sun location with sun all afternoon would probably be enough -- it would certainly be enough if there is sun from noon or one o'clock onward. However, if it is dappled sun or if the sun does not reach it until four o'clock in the afternoon, for example, I don't think it would be enough. They will not grow quite as quickly in only half day sun as they would with sun all day, though. Good luck with your lilacs!
