I have planted several mini roses over the past 4 years. Many I've gotten from the local rose society. They have several stems that come up from around the main plant. These stems have little or no leaves and do not bloom. I would like to know ifI should trim them out.

Miniature roses require very little pruning but it would certainly be appropriate to remove these suckers. It is a good idea to put a drop of Elmer's Glue on the cut surface of each cane you are removing to prevent borers or disease from invading your canes when the cut is fresh. Removing these suckers should improve your rose's appearance and vigor.
