| I want to grow a Campsis radicans Madame Galen in a large pot. If I use at least a 27" - 30" pot, will this be successful? Also, should the pot be ceramic or can it be plastic. I only have a townhouse patio with lots of reflective light. Thanks for your help |
| Campsis radicans grows fast to 40' or more, bursting with blossoms from mid-summer through fall. A 30" pot should accommodate the roots quite nicely - for a few years, at least. When the plant becomes potbound (when roots grow out of the drainage holes), you can divide and repot it. Either ceramic or plastic will be fine. Terra cotta pots tend to wick moisture from the soil so plants in terra cotta will need to be watered more frequently, but ceramic pots are sealed so you won't have that problem.
