I recently purchased a Monrovia Waterfall Japanese Maple. My friend told me "you're crazy to have spent that much money on a tree that gets eaten up by bugs." I looked around my area and have seen many beautiful full grown JM's and don't think my area has a problem with pest eating the trees. If I do have a problem with Japanese beetles or other pest what should I use to control them. The tree is beautiful. Also, it has growth all along the trunk. Sould I prune it on the lower part of the trunk to be more like a tree than a bush and if so when do I do that? |
