The label on my new Rhododendron reads "Ignatius Sargent Rhododenron (H-1)". Can you tell me what the "H-1" means? Thank you

The "H-1" on the label indicates the growing zone. In this case, the rhododendron will grow best in the cooler regions of the U.S.; namely USDA zones 1-4. You're in one of the warmer winter climates so the indication of cold-hardiness doesn't really apply to you. Your rhodie will produce faintly scented deep rose flowers and should be planted in a partly shady site. Enjoy!
