|What will be a good evergreen shrub companion to my Acer palmatum disectum "tamukeyama"?
|This would be a matter of personal taste and preference. One plant I like to see with Japanese maples in a sunny location is the lower growing juniper, Juniperus procumbens nana. In partial sun areas and a cooler location, I like to see moss beneath them, or maybe just a plain carpet of mulch. The branching structure is so pretty I hate to detract from it by cluttering the area too much. Also, the roots are fairly extensive and need to be able to spread through the soil unimpeded. Your local nursery may have some suggestions for you as well. Enjoy your tree!|
