I am looking for a plant that I think is called "penta". I don't know if it is a annual or a prennial. It has flower heads (much like Yarrow) on stalks and long leaves. It seemed to usuall be in the pink /magent/ red/ and white colors and it isn't praticularly bushy. Can you tell me if I have the right name or what it might be? Thanks.

Yes,Pentas lanceolata is a real plant, it is a perennial but is grown as an annual in cold winter areas such as yours. It loves heat and sunshine. Here is a photo and brief description from Texas A&M University web site at http://aggie-horticulture.tamu...

It should do well in your long hot summers.
