Clematis serratifolia "Golden Tiara" (also known as 'Kugotia') is considered a group 3 clematis for pruning purposes. It blooms on new growth of the season and so may be pruned back hard in the spring for mid to late summer blooms. You may also want to deadhead it, meaning remove spent blooms, to prevent seed formation and consequently prevent it from seeding about in your garden. Enjoy your new Golden Tiara!
