I have lots of male zuchinni flowers, but the females don't open and wither before I can pollinate. What is wrong? |
It's not unusual for the first squash blossoms to be male. In a few weeks female flowers will begin to develop and you'll be able to pollinate them by hand. Development of female flowers has to do with favorable temperatures and maturity of the squash vine. A little patience is all it will take for your zucchini to begin producing female flowers. By season's end you'll probably have more zucchini than you know what to do with! Enjoy! |
