I've ben told that absolutely nothing can grow under it. The pepper tree is quite mature but has limited foilage due the power and electric lines. It is tall but quite thin. I'd like to create a fern dell. was thinking of papyrus purple fountain grass, polka dot plants and snow busch for ground cover. Your opinion/suggestions are very important to me! Thanks Ellen |

I'm in Southern California & have 2 large California peppers on a wide side yard. There was nothing under them when we moved in but I now have lantana, creeping rosemary, columbine, coast rosemary, yucca, emu bush, and red valerian planted. After 2 years they are all thriving and doing well. |
I am also in Southern California and would like to see pictures of your plantings under the pepper tree. Thank you |
