I AM WONDERING IF I SHOULD CUT OFF THE FLOWERING STEM AFTER ADAMS NEEDLE HAS BLOOMED. I ALSO WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT THE POD LIKE THINGS ARE AT THE FLOWEING SPOTS. ARE THEY SEEDS AND DOES THIS PLANT TEND TO BLOOM ONCE A YEAR LIKE DAY-LILLIES.

The pods are seed pods that form after the flowers fade, the seeds are inside. You can remove the stems once the blooms are done by cutting them off down low. This way no stub will show above the foliage. This plant blooms only once a year, in mid-summer. Sometimes flower arrangers like to use the stem with its seed pods in dried arrangements.
