Evergreen Shade Tree? - Knowledgebase Question

Do you have any evergreen trees for zone 6 that are shaped more like shade trees, rather than pyramidal?

Unfortunately, I can't think of any evergreens that have a bare trunk and then a rounded canopy on top. Most are more upright and narrow or pyramidal. I believe they evolved this way to better withstand wind, otherwise they would be too top heavy and blow over more often in strong winter storms. You will find that older taller pines tend to have foliage only at the top, but they are not the tall spreading vase shape of a typical shade tree by any means.
