Would like to plant some Zebra Grass, yet this year. Is it too late in the season? |
In my experience, the grasses seem to do better when planted in the spring because of their typical growth cycle. However, a container grown grass that is not overly stressed -- meaning it has been welled cared for all summer -- would still have a chance of survival planted in late summer/early fall. Be sure to keep it well watered all fall up until the ground freezes, keep it mulched with several inches of organic mulch over the root zone, and do not cut it back until next spring. Good luck with your miscanthus! |
