I planted a dappled willow in June. It had a rough start and I had to cut it back a bit. Now it is thriving, but the dappling on the leave is gone. Was the cutting back the cause? Is there anything I can do to promote it again? Thanks.

The young leaves on Salix integra Hakuro Nashiki are the most boldly colored with pink, white and green but as they mature, they turn more of a grayish green with some paler streaks. So what you are seeing is probably normal. To promote the best coloring next season, trim it back in the early spring to encourage new growth.
