| Unfortunately, the best photo I can find in a quick search is not very close up but Kolkwitzia flowers fade and leave behind a sort of fuzzy looking or bristly brownish tan cluster containing seeds inside. They stay on the plant into the winter and are used as an indentifying characteristic. http://www.uark.edu/campus-res...
