|Unfortunately, Japanese maples are deciduous trees and will drop their leaves each fall. In some ways this is not so bad because it reveals the lovely branch structure. It also means they have the opportunity to change color and create brilliant fall displays. Your local professional nursery staff should be able to help you select the best one based on the growing conditions and amount of space available for a mature tree at the particular site you have in mind.
