Most shrubs will adapt to growing in containers and Hollywood juniper is no exception. As with any containerized plant, monitor frequently for adequate soil moisture and plan to feed dilute amounts of fertilizer every few weeks during the growing season. Junipers prefer fast-draining soil, somewhat on the dry side. Water your junipers thoroughly, then allow the top few inches of soil dry out before watering again. Feed your plants with a quarter-strength dilution of liquid fertilizer every 2-3 weeks from April through October. Be sure to give your junipers a sunny exposure.
