Will my star pine which was almost 50' tall keep on growing after it snapped in half during the recent storm?

Thank you.

It's difficult to predict the future of your pine. In some cases, the branch highest on the trunk will begin to grow upward and take the place of the original central leader. Sometimes the two highest branches will both grow upright and you'll end up with a forked appearance. Either way, the health of your tree has been compromised and the tree may experience a rapid decline. If it were my tree, I'd have a certified arborist look at the tree and make recommendations. (Look in the phone book under 'Arborists', or call your local Cooperative Extension for their list of certified arborists.) Best wishes with your tree!
