|I am looking for a small tree, maybe pendulous, that would fit into a north facing corner beside my front door. Ideally it would be fragrant...or evergreen & handsome, but not going over 15'.
Do you have any ideas? I considered the Styrax obassia, but it grows to 20+ feet.
|Styrax is a nice choice and you can keep it at the height you require by pruning it back every few years. Other suggestions include Choisya ternata (an evergreen shrub that you can train into a tree). It reaches 10' in height and produces clusters of fragrant flowers in both spring and autumn. Dwarf citrus trees will produce fragrant blossoms and the added bonus of some fruit. A final suggestion is a dwarf weeping plum. The flowers are mildly fragrant. Hope the above information is useful!|
