We will be married July 5th 2003 in Benicia, California. We want a pair of Golden Chain Trees on either side of the alter. Our concern is that spring has come early and we wonder if the trees will be finished blooming by then?

Goldenchain trees (Laburnum) are generally in bloom from mid- to late-spring. I'm afraid their flower display will be gone before July. If you're looking for a substitute, Acacia constricta produces fragrant yellow flowers in the summer and the foliage is feathery and small. A second suggestion is Sapium, the Chinese tallow tree. This one produces spikes of tiny yellowish flowers in mid-summer. Best wishes with your wedding, and with your trees!
