We recently purchased one of your "Monterey Bay Brush Cherry" plants. Will this plant do well in a large decorative pot? We would like to use it on our patio. |
Brush cherry isn't a good candidate for container growing. It produces a huge root mass which will soon outgrow even a very large container and the ultimate size of the plant is in excess of 30' tall and 15' wide. You'd have to prune it quite extensively to keep it small, which would eventually affect its health. Plant yours in the ground where the roots have room to roam and it will grow into an attractive shrub (or multi-trunked tree). |
