I have a flowering plum that has been in the ground now for two years and it has yet to bloom. What do I need to do?

When trees fail to flower it's usually due to 1) lack of adequate sunshine, 2) over-fertilization (which encourages rapid growth at the expense of flowers), 3) poor pruning practices, or 4) immaturity. If your tree is young, planted in full sunshine, has not been pruned or fertilized too much, then I think the lack of flowering is probably due to the tree being too young to flower. Give it another year and it should reward you with springtime blossoms.
