Are there any evergreen twining vines, preferably with flowers, that grow well in the shade? Only about 3 hours of morning sun - climbing a chain link fence - sandy soil |
There are only two vining plants that flower reliably under shady conditions, but both are worth considering. Parthenocissus (Virginia Creeper), and Trachelospermum jasminoides (star jasmine). Virginia Creeper is deciduous, but the leaves turn brilliant colors before they fall which provides some late season interest in the garden. Star jasmine is evergreen and the flowers have a lovely fragrance. Hope one of these suggestions appeals to you! |
