Suggested shrubs: Abutilion (flowering maple), Aucuba japonica, Brunfelsia, Camellia, Carpenteria (bush anemone), Coprosma (mirror plant), Daphne odora (winter daphne), Fuchsia, Gardenia, Hamamelis (witch hazel), Leucothoe, Osmanthus, Sarcococca (sweet box), and Griselinia lucida. Suggested perennials: Acanthus (bear's breech), Aconite, Alchemillia (lady's mantle), Anemone (windflower), Asarum (wild ginger), Begonia, Caladium, Campanula, Clivia, Coleus, Corydalis, Cyclamen, Dicentra (bleeding heart), Ferns of all descriptions, Gentian, Lily, Heuchera (coral bells), Lobelia, Primrose, Saxifraga, Vinca (periwinkle) and Pansy. |
