| I planted your white climbing hydrangea and planted it in April. It gets mid to late afternoon sunshine, sometimes dappled by surrounding trees. It has not grown one iota, but still looks healthy. Is it resting or have I done something wrong? the top of the root ball is slightly above the surface and I have it mulched. Help!! |
| I'm sure you're disappointed that you haven't seen new growth, but while the top of your plant seems to be in a state of suspended animation, the roots are probably busily exploring their new home. It can take several months for newly transplanted shrubs to become established and begin to show some top growth. So, continue to give your climbing hydrangea TLC, water it regularly, and wait patiently. It should begin to grow by late summer or early fall (when temperatures cool down a bit).
