Spanish Broom Premature Sticking. - Knowledgebase Question

The plant was pruned end of last season, grew beautifully this spring and flowered. Now it has slowly turned to just the sticks, starting from permimeter of plant to center. Don't see any bugs, what could have gone wrong.
