I purchased some Purple Fountain Grass last season (towards the end of summer) and over winter they died out. To date nothing is emerging from the plants; all I see are dead dried out leaves from last seasons growth. When should I expect new growth from these plants? I'm just wondering if their dead and I need to purchase new plants?

Purple Fountain Grass (Pennisetum setaceum) is borderline hardy in your gardening region and is usually treated as an annual. I never plan on mine returning in my Seattle garden, although on occasion they do. If you do not see any new growth from your fountain grass clumps by now, they probably didn't make it through the winter months and should be replaced.
