I saw a beautiful wreath in a magazine once made from smilax vines with the berries still attached. Where would smilax vines be found? Where do they grow naturally? And if I could get some seeds or a clipping, would it survive here in South Florida? |
Smilax, also called 'greenbrier' or 'catbrier', is a tropical plant so it would, indeed, grow well in South Florida. It's not a specialty plant so it should be available at a local nursery, or order from Woodlanders, Inc., 1128 Collection Ave., Aiken, SC 29801; ph# 803/648-7522 - they carry several species. |
