Can Chinese wisteria grow in the southern California desert?

Chinese wisteria (Wisteria sinensis) is the most commonly planted wisteria in southern California and will grow and bloom prolifically in your desert climate. Provide well-draining soil and either a full sun or partially shaded site for your new wisteria.
