Does Camellia Kanjiro hold any attraction for deer? We are about to plant 40 of them as a hedge and there are a few deer in our neighborhood.

Camellias are not especially attractive to deer, but a hungry deer will eat most anything. Whether or not your camellias become dinner for deer will depend upon on how large the deer population is and how much competition there is for food in your neighborhood. I have a large herd of deer wandering through my yard with great frequency and while they'll eat roses, viburnum and escallonia, they have never touched my camellias. So far, anyway.

Best wishes with your landscape!
