My 'Moonshadow' Euonymus has developed a brown bark-like substance on its stems. I have about 10 or so and they all appear to have the same thing. They were planted last year. Is this normal, or do you think they have some sort of disease?

The corky substance you're finding on the stems of your Euonymus is perfectly natural and normal. Some people refer to the growth as "wings", hence the name "winged Euonymus". Don't worry about the growth; consider it one of the attractive characteristics of your shrubs.

Best wishes with your garden!
