|According to Sunset Garden Book, 'Coral Beauty' grows
only 6" tall. Your plant description states that it grows
to 2' tall. Are we talking about the same plant and if not, what cotoneaster is available that grows only 6" tall?
|This Chinese Bearberry (Cotoneaster dammeri)can grow 6" to 2' tall, depending upon growing conditions, but generally grows to a foot or so tall, with the possibility of its semi-prostrate branches stretching six feet wide. Wherever its low-growing branches touch the ground, it roots itself, continuing to colonize rough ground if permitted. It has evergreen or semi-evergreen leaves which turn purple-green in winter. This is the shortest growing rockspray cotoneaster. If you're looking for a flatter growing groundcover, you might consider Arctostaphylos uva-ursa 'Wood's Red' which produces a crop of red berries similar to those of cotoneaster.
Best wishes with your landscape!
