I recently bought seveal chindo viburnum shrubs and planted them in a semi-sunny site. I notice that the leaves at the tops of the viburnums tend to fold. Can you tell me why? |
Viburnum awabuki 'chindo' is a medium fast to fast growing shrub for full sun to part shade. It has a coarse texture that is a good contrast for many evergreens. This plant grows well in clay or sandy soils and tolerates slightly wet areas. It has also proven to be both pest and disease resistant. If you've recently transplanted your shrubs, they may just be showing signs of transplant stress. If this is the case, they should perk up in a few weeks. As an added precaution, check the undersides of the leaves to make sure no insects are residing there. Insect feeding can curl the leaves. Best wishes with your new plants! |
