Almeda,

Plant tomatoes about mid March to early April in your area. That way you will be after the last average frost date. Fertilize your tomatoes with a balanced plant food like Miracle Gro at planting and weekly for a few weeks. Then when the first blooms set sprinkle a tablespoon of 3-1-2 ratio fertilizer (such as 8-2-4 or 15-5-10) around each plant and lightly scratch it into the surface inch of soil then water it in well.
