| This Spring will be the first in my new home. Since I live in the south(atlanta), my back yard is mostly clay. I want to plant a flowerbed, but I do not know where to start. Can you give me some advice about planting with the clay, as well as, some ideas for plant choices? |
| Frannie, Mix in a few inches of compost and if the area tends to stand in water after a rain build up the soil into raised planting beds to improve drainage. As for as plants go there are a multitude of great choices. Please submit additional questions to the website with each asking about a specific type of plant, eg. annual flowers, perennial flowers, blooming shrubs, etc. I can then do a better job providing a more thorough answer.
