Hi. I've a small patch of lawn to the side of my house & deck which my dog uses to relieve himself, and now it has become yellow and dry without any grass growing. I know that there is nothing one can do, but flush with water, but my question is this - Can I put sod or lawn seeds to try reviving the lawn a little bit atleast so as to not be an eye sore? If yes, what lawn seeds/sod and where from do you recommend? Application, fertilization and care tips would be appreciated. Thank you in advance! |
Unfortunately, as long as your dog continues to use that area, new sod or seeds aren't going to take. You might want to consider removing the lawn if it is unsightly and putting bark chips or something similar that wouldn't show the problem. Here is a website that contains more than you ever wanted to know about dog problems on the lawn:http://aggie-horticulture.tamu.edu/plantanswers/turf/dog_lawn_problems.html. You might want to consider training the dog to go elsewhere if possible, and then revive the lawn. Good luck! |
