Scarlet runners are beautiful additions to any garden. They love to climb a wall or run along a fence, and the blossoms are spectacular. Since yours are blooming you must have them in full sunshine and you're probably giving them enough water. The only other thing that might be hampering the formation of bean pods is lack of insect activity to pollinate the flowers. Have you used any pesticides in the area? Do you have a huge population of hungry birds that might be eating flying insects? Last - but not least, it's possible the flowers have been pollinated but it's too early in the season for the beans to form. I'd take a wait and see attitude. But, even if you don't get any beans, the plants are worth having in the garden!
