I've recently acquired a plant that was called a "pregnant onion". It's a bulbous plant that has baby bulbs pressing through the outside of the original bulb, and long, strap like leaves. Can you give me a scientific name and tell me how to care for it?

The "pregnant onion" I'm most familiar with is 'Ornithogalum', a member of the lily family. As a houseplant, it's easy to grow. Just give it lots of bright light and water when the soil dries out. All parts, especially the bulb, are poisonous, so keep the plant away from small children or pets that are likely to try to snack on it.
