Big Bend, WI (Zone 5B)
|I planted my first set of bulbs last fall and they came in beautifully in the spring. What do I do with the plants after they have finished blooming for the season? Do I cut them down to the ground or leave them alone?

|The foliage needs to grow and then fade and die back in order to refuel the bulb so it can bloom again next year. Ideally you would leave the foliage alone until it turns completely brown, then you can remove it by a gentle tug. Otherwsie you can trim it off when it is at least half browned and dry, but the longer you can wait the better.
