When should I plant the Hyacinath bulbs that I received in a store pot as a gift? The foliage has died and browned out. I have removed the bulbs and they look very healthy. I am in Phoenix.

Spring-blooming bulbs are planted in late fall (October-November) in our area. You can store the bulbs in the refrigerator in a paper bag until then, although they may dry out over such a lengthy period. You can also repot them and store them in the refrigerator. It's usually best to leave them in the pot and occasionally water them until replanting time. Good luck!
