| I see cuphea grow in bunches in part sun, but I can't ever get them to grow like a bush. Anyone can help me, how to make mare plants. Thanks. |
| Cuphea tends to grow into a mound but the bottoms of the stems are sometimes bare, which gives the plants a leggy look. To keep Cuphea looking attractive and full of blooms, cut it back severely in the fall or early spring. This will encourage the development of healthy new flowering stems. Cuphea is relatively easy to propagate from stem cuttings. Simply cut a 3-4" length from the tip of new stem, strip the leaves from the bottom inch, dip the cut end in rooting hormone and place it in a container of moistened potting soil. Protect from sunshine, keep the soil moist but not soggy wet, and in a few weeks your cuttings should develop roots. Best wishes with your new project! |
