I would like to know how to have grass grow under a dogwood tree where there is lots of shade from other trees also...and what kind. Thanks

I am sorry for this delayed reply to your gardening question as we are transitioning to a new Q&A system. I hope this reply is not too late to be of help.

Grass doesn't kile to grow in the shade. Pruning trees above that dogwood just a little by thinning out some of their limbs to brighten the shade may help.

St. Augustine is the best grass for shady areas.
