I am told the the Jublee Weeping Cypress is a beautiful tree, I have been looking for the right tree for my front yard and someone told me that the Jublee would look wonderful. Could you please tell me what this tree looks like I can't find it on the net or in any of my gardening books. Please help in NS |
This is a somewhat unusual cultivar of Nootka Falsecypress, or Chamaecyparis Nootkatensis. http://web1.msue.msu.edu/msue/... Apparently it is similar to but narrower than the cultivar called Pendula -- According to the Monrovia on line plant descriptions, the Chamaecyparis nootkatensis 'Pendula' (Xanthocyparis noot.) or weeping nootka cypres reaches 10 to 15 feet wide and about 45 feet tall. Here is a photo of Jubilee. http://www.iseli-nursery.com/p... To be honest I suspect you may have difficulty in locating this tree to purchase. You would also have to make sure you have enough space to accommodate an extremely tall tree in your front yard. If it doesn't sound like a good match for your situation, your local nursery may be able to suggest a substitute, possibly another Chamaecyparis such as Pendula which is more often seen or something else entirely. |
