If you've recently planted your tree, I suspect it's going through a little transplant shock. This is a common occurance with newly planted trees and shrubs, especially if the weather is hot. Your tree will overcome this stress once the roots become established in their new home. You can help things along by watering deeply once each week during the growing season. Apply water slowly so it has a chance to trickle down and wet the entire root mass. I find that building a basin beneath newly planted trees and shrubs and flooding the basin with water, allowing it to drain, then flooding it a second time works really well to concentrate the moisture over the root mass. Try it with your cherry tree. I'm sure it will perk up soon.
