| 2 months ago I planted two TX Mountain Laurels and both are afflicted with yellowing of veins (leaves) and eventual dropping of leaves. For the the first month I made sure the plants have an adequate amount of watering but not too much since we do have problems with fungi in houston. Do you thing that both of these plants have an iron deficiency and that's what is causing the problem? These two guys get plenty of sun... |
| Ken, It is definitely not iron, on that plant. I suspect the soil maybe staying a little too wet. It hates soggy conditions and in your rainy climate it would do best on a raised planting mounds as you can't control those long rainy spells you have in Houston. Those plants are picky about being transplanted and may sit there for a year or two before showing real signs of new growth. Just be patient and insure good soil drainage. Thanks for the question.
