I planted my first tomatoe plants this year in a small garden. The first tomatoes are now coming into maturity and some of the birds in the back yard have discovered them. Is there something I can put up to scare them off as I would like to avoid having to build a cage around them? Thanks. |
I've had really good success by using birdnetting draped over a temporary frame made of wooden stakes and set over my tomatoe plants. This may work for you, too. As an added deterent, you might find some shiny metallic ribbon to tie onto the corners of the frame. Something that flutters in the wind will usually scare birds away. Best wishes with your tomatoes! |
