|For the health of your vine or climbing rose and your stucco wall, I'd recommend purchasing a free-standing trellis. You'll want at least 12" between the wall and the trellis for good air circulation and to keep your vining plant from over-heating from reflected heat. 24" is even better. Many home improvement stores carry trellises and can help you purchase the boards needed to make it free-standing. Best wishes with your project!
