| My husband rescued a sick Spanish Broom from a local nursery. I planted it in full sun and added a slow release fertilizer and am watering every day. It doesn't seem to be getting any better. Should I prune it back or just wait? Any hints you can give me would be appreciated. We live in the high mountain desert, very low humidity. By the way, all my Monrovia plants are very happy. | Michele, I am sorry for this delayed reply to your gardening question. We are transitioning to a new Q&A system and your question was unfortunately lost in the transition. I have discovered it now and hope this reply is not too late to be of help. I don't thing cutting it back is helpful at this time. I would really need to know why it was sick. The cause of the sickness would be a key to the cure. Let's assume it just needs some adequate soil moisture and the slow release fertilizer you already added. Be extra careful not to overwater as this is very detrimental to the plants should the soil become oversaturated. Thanks for the question. Please stop in again soon! |
