Should we replace the potting soil in our containers before planting new this year?
Any suggestions on anything to add or prepare the soil in a container?

Many gardeners re-use potting mix that is left in large outdoor containers over the winter, but they do refresh it by adding fresh potting mix. I think using fresh potting soil each year helps plants remain healthier. You can always recycle the old potting soil by spreading it out in your garden. If you decide to re-use your potting soil, empty all the pots into a wheelbarrow or bucket and add an equal amount of fresh potting soil; mix it together well, moisten it, then refill your containers. After planting your containers, feed the plants with a half-strength dilution of liquid fertilizer. Your new plants should thrive!
