|Our 15-year old wisteria sulked, withered, and died over the past 6 months or so. When I went to remove it, it broke off at ground level and looks like the wood is rotten. It had good drainage and was never over-watered. Do you know what may have killed it?
|What you describe sounds like crown rot. This typically occurs when soils remain soggy, or organic mulch material is pack up around the trunk of the plant. There's no other disease that would attack the plant at soil level. Sorry about your wisteria!
